Combining two of the most powerful internal arts with tai chi, Sun Lu-tang (1861-1932) created an uniquely powerful style of tai chi. This style places great emphasis on Qigong (exercise to cultivate vital life energy), making it especially effective for cultivating internal energy, which in turn greatly enhances healing and relaxation. Sun style is characterized by agile steps with smooth and flowing movements, like water in a river.
This program includes 12 movements and Qigong for relaxation and mindfulness training. The exercise is equivalent to brisk walking; and, is suitable for seniors and individuals wishing to learn a set of tai chi movements.
Viola Everett teaches this program demonstrating each movement step-by-step. Viola goes through each lesson with you and explains how to incorporate the tai chi principles into your practice and daily life.
In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Michigan Arthritis Foundation supports the program.
